So long as you set processor affinity correctly in Task Manager once the dedi is up and running, then yeah, you could get the dedi running one core1 and the game client running on core0.Aelred89 said:Yeh thats what i'm planning on doing if something can't be sorted outBut it'd be nice to get something permanant.
Also, about running it on my system whilst playing, my friend seems to think because css isnt dual core optimised i'll be effectively running on a 2.4GHz cpu. But i'm running the dedicated server stand alone and then joining it myself, surely this is classed as two processes and would utilise my dual core cpu? ... if ya understand any of that![]()
Yeah you can either just make a LAN game within CSS or run a dedicated server in the background in Windows (and set it to use the second core), and load up CSS and join it. Any reasonable spec will host games. I have a dual Athlon XP 3200+ server in the telehouse which runs two games off each chipAelred89 said:Yeh thats what i'm planning on doing if something can't be sorted outBut it'd be nice to get something permanant.
