Spec me a cycling hat/hood

It's suddenly gotten very cold for my commutes in the morning. As such, I'm looking for something I can wear under my helmet that won't make it sit too high or obscure my vision significantly.

Any recommendations?

Merino buff would be great. Wear it how you like, and if you get too hot it's small and will stuff in a pocket with whatever else you happen to be carrying in there.

I literally just wear a cycling cap to keep the wind off

Neck warmer too stretched up over the nose & mouth if the wind is really bitter.
