Spec me a day out

Right me and the wife want to take our 21 month old son out for some days while we are off work.(he loves walking)
So spec me a day out.
We live in Skelmersdale near Liverpool but will travel as have car, but dont want to be out over night if poss.

Yorkshire Dales or the Lake District? Some very nice scenery and walking to be had there.

was thinking of the lakes ,may be windermere(boat rides to be had)

Done the Blue Planet in Ellesmere Port and the Albert Dock in Liverpool? If your lad likes science there's the Catalyst Museum in Widnes and the Spaceport in Wallasey. The Catalyst is next to a reclaimed nature reserve for your walking pleasure.

How about a day out with thomas (the tank engine)

There was one at york railway museum recently that we took our 3 year old, he loved it.
