Spec me a decent footpump

It's a fiver, get it. It'll be fine if you're careful with it.The actual pump will be fine it's the structure that'll be cheap so it'll bend if you put any sideways pressure on it.

I have that unit. I have not tested it yet but took away with me just in case. The build quality is reasonable, can see some cheapness in some of the construction but it look like it will do the job.

Does it need to be a foot pump? I've got a standard vertical bike pump which I think was £20 from Halfords. It's been working for years on my bicycles and perfect if my motorbike tyres need a top up.

Bicycle stirrup pumps are hard work if you need to inflate a car tyre though; you'd be there for a long time.

I guess, but I've never had to pump a motorbike tyre from flat as I don't fit them myself. When changing, the shop puts some air in and then I'll just adjust when I get home. Bicycle pump is perfect for small adjustments.

Guys, this is an easy answer:

They're not cheap but damn they do the job and I'm fairly confident they'd survive a direct hit from a nuke.

The kind of build quality you don't see enough of any more, I'm sure I'll be using mine in a few decades time :) - They also push a massive amount of volume, I use it on my car just as regularly as my mountain bike.

I use Joe Blow Max pump, on the gauge it has 160psi. I pump my road bike tyres to 110-120psi without any problems, once used on a car and didn't take long to pump it up.

I bought one from Halfords about 15 yrs ago. It was the premium brass barreled one they had, and well its lasted me to this day. It gets used a lot too. Actually used it today to fill 2 of my bikes, and i remembered saying to myself this thing has seen me well. Glad i went with the more solid premium version over the el cheapo version that they also had in the shop.

Prolly ones they have now are made in China and will last you a yr or two.

electric inflator thingy came today, looks smart in its own textile bag, lets hope it lasts a long time
