So far we have been to Argos and bought 3 sets of 3 DECT phones but all of them have a very low ring tone.
Yes, I have been into the Menu's and turned them up to full but they are still way too low.
My set of NTL V2000s I had a few years ago are very loud.

These phones are for my father in law who hasn't been given long to live.
He is living at home with virtual round the clock care but the phones he has got (BT Freelance XD1500s) also have a very low ringtone and he can't hear them ringing.

Maybe someone has bought a set recently and can vouch that theirs are quite loud.

Thanks

Sorry to hear about your father in law, I don't know if they would work with DECT phones but many moons ago my Grandad had some sort of external amplifying system that was connected to the phone line and made a very loud doorbell-esque buzzing noise. I'll try and find a link for you.

Buy nothing but Siemens or Panasonic.

Everything else is pap.

Used to sell the things for a living. Anything else will give you trouble.

My parents have Panasonic ones and they are really loud, they actually hurt my ears if I'm standing near it when ringing.

We have the Panasonic kx-tg8220e. I've had to turn them down to minimum volume lol. Very good handsets too.

I think that's the model I have, can't find the manual to check. Very good phones.

Edit: Ah found it on my order history, this is what I got - Panasonic KXTG8023 Colour DECT Trio Digital Cordless Telephone with Answer Machine - Black

we have pana's at home also after i recommended them to my parents whilst working for the blue shirt shop. They have been faultless for the last few years and have a very loud tone, aswell as adjustable tone so you can find one with a decent hearable pitch.

We have the Panasonic KXTG8322 and have had to turn the volume down to number 2 as they are very loud.

As said before deffo go panasonic as we tried loads of different sets and the pannys were the only ones that worked for well over the stated stanby/talktime times.

No problems with ours so far.

The ring amplifiers are no good because there aren't any phone points in the room the phones are in.

You could discreetly run the cable from the phone socket into the room and then also leave the amplifier hidden away.

Then again, it probably would be better to just get a DECT phone with sufficient volume.
