I have takes up a new job that will require me to drive 60 miles aday. all a27
i dont think my celica will take to it to well being that it gets about 25mpg. and would just ruine it for me but on the other hand i dnt actually want to sell it and i dont actually need a car for work but trains / publc transport are not an option.

so spec me a derv please NO BMW'S :)

looking for good mpg's, saloon or hatchback
half decent power i dnt think i will be happy with anything less then 150bhp
and iv got £4700 to play with.
or just tell me the celica will be fine and that i wont hate it :)

Stick with the celica, £4700 is a crap load of petrol to burn (as well as tax and insurance) before you even break even, let alone save money.

change up earlier?

I tell my self i should but i cant seem to do it lol. im to used to being on my motor bikes wer i can ring its neck and still get like 40 mpg lol.

maybe i should try it for a few months and see how i get on. but would still be nice to have some options if i do go down the route of changing the car

Just drive like a sane person! A 2zz is well capable of 35mpg at those kinds of speeds. If you drove my diesel in the same manner you're driving the celica you'd struggle to see much more than 30-35mpg

fair enough il see if i can manage not to have a lead right foot.

What part(s) of the A27 is it? As I do about 10 miles on it and up and down across the downs aren't that great even for my Diesel Mondeo's fuel economy. You touching Worthing or is it the other end? As if there's any stop start you'll hate a diesel even more!

As said, just use use your current car and enjoy it!

Well at least you've not got to do a route through Worthing, A27 is pretty good post Lewes, Will certainly be able to spot your celica in the mornings :)
