Yep, figured this wouldnt fit anywhere else so this is it. Basically I've got a massive Desk at the moment which I dont like, as its designed for a CRT to like sit in the middle of it and I have a nice shiny new 22" widescreen TFT.

I am after a Simple desk, I dont care much for drawers etc. I'm not into this old style Hertford Range at argos though with the rounded feet etc, it looks like something you'd find in your nans livingroom. Where do you reccomend I look, Argos, Staples or?

Was originally looking at this: Clicky but I'm not convinced it will last 5mins.

I know this is random, but any advice would be cool as I'm pretty clueless at this sort of thing. Budget isnt really an issue, <£300

Check out the Morgan range, I have the older version and it is solid as a rock, it is also modular so you can add cupboards and or filing cabinets at either end of the above as you see fit.

I can heartily recommend this, too. I have the corner unit, double cupboard and drawers and it all seems pretty well made. Nice thick (32mm as I just measured it) desk top and not too expensive either.

I believe a lot of people in this thread own this desk so, if you want, I'm sure there'd be no shortage of pictures for you to look at. If you're not a fan of the corner unit, there's also a standard straight one, too.

Any pics of what you have now? Or of your room to see what would fit? I made a SketchUp fairly accurate model of my room and of various Argos furniture I liked to see if they fitted (Accurate dims, downloaded some models of Tvs, laptops, printers etc). I'm fussy like that.

Slinwagh, you with your extra double cupboard! You may win this time...

I've modified mine a little though. I "inverted" the corner support somewhat so my computer case could sit closer to the corner.

And I moved the desk top back a bit so an overhang was created at the back to compensate for the large gap created by the skirting board.

Anyway, here's another so you can see it in its entirety (well, almost anyway!).

I also "modified" one of the cupboards, I had the single bottom filing cabinet with the sliding scanner shelf tray, I took out the filing cabinet bit and the sliding shelf and put my tower in it, the Antec P182. You can just make this out in the second picture, left of the chair.

I will take some better pictures today when I have cleared up!

How much roughly would that type of desk cost? That's the type i want :)

For a "Morgan" setup you need 3 parts, the center/corner piece and two ends, cupboard, filing cabinet etc.

Off the top of my head I paid £100 - £120

The new version of the corner unit is £49.99 so I guess with the two end pieces you need you are looking at the same price £120 roughly all in.

Required parts.

£49.99 Corner desk

Options

£56.87 3 draw pedestal
£43.94 2 Door Cupboard
£39.99 Single Lockable cupboard
£39.99 Single Pedastal

You can use any two of the "options" they go either side of the corener unit.

Already answered by Slinwagh. ;)

Sorry for jumping in here but can you tell me the brand/model of that chair? Is it comfy? I'm looking for a new one and that one looks great.

It's called Fulkrum II. There's also a Fulkrum I which you can get a bit cheaper, I think mine was around £280 new included VAT and delivery. Pretty expensive really, but a lot cheaper compared to HM Aerons, for example, and still offers a lot of functionality and adjustment. Well worth the money getting a decent chair if you spend a lot of time on it if you ask me.
