Spec me a digital EOS body?

Hi all,

Dad's had a wee go of my 350D and so wants a DSLR for himself now. We'll likely end up borrowing/sharing lenses so obviously I'm recommending him a canon but I can't find anything within budget.

I paid £350 for mine, new with kit lens, so that's the sort of budget we're trying to work with. I can't find any deals on the 350D now as it's old hat and the 400D is priced around £450+? Is it worth looking used/refurbished and any particular suggestions on what to look for or should we just go get a 400D kit?

To be honest, for the price that you can get 400d body + kit lens from that magic online auction site, I would suggest that you just buy a new 400d + kit lens for your dad.

Aye, you're probably right. I just checked and there's a £50 rebate on the 400D kit from the highstreet too
