Spec me a dirt cheap CPU

Ok, heres the deal:

I'm putting together a gaming rig for the missus as she loves her COD4, Tf2 and Peggle.
I'm quite skint having just spent a lot on xmas stuff for her and others.
I currrently have my old nForce 650 mobo, 2gb ram and an 8800gt (plus case, Hdd etc) but i now need the cheapest possible socket 775 CPU capable of playing these games.

Resolution will be 1440x900.

I was thinking along the lines of:
Celeron D 347 3.06ghz Roughly £30
Celeron dual core E1400 2ghz Roughly £50

Lowest price possible.

Any suggestions?

it is slower then the e2200 but has more cache, so you decide which CPU is better value for your money,

I think a quick OC would sort out speed so I'll go for cache, thanks again for the help.

Quick question regarding current day Celerons. (Just curious.) Are they actually any good for games or dvd/blueray playback or are they just for light use? I remember the p4 celeron's didn't use to run games very well...

They're pretty much just for office use as the lack of cache can cripple them.

Far far better getting a used E21*0 chip if cash is tight.
