Are we talking a proper RAID rig with Redundancy? If so then probably best to use a SATA RAID 5 card to get the most out of your capacity whilst retaining redundancy.
well RAID 1 has the plus of being supported by Mother boards but the minus of giving half the available capacity..
RAID 5 gives for 4 disks 75% capactity, for 5 (which isn't supported by this card ) 80% capacity and 3 (which is and allows for a hot standby disk ) gives 66%.
Thus RAID5, if you don't mind paying a little extra for hardware, gives more room for data.
Other than that any of the motherboards which support RAID1 will be fine for a RAID1 rig.
