Looking for an alternative to the Windows Vista...if there is a better one around?

i tried defraggler it was ok but auslogic one is far better,
if you open it up on select ur os drive
go to propeties pick "put system files at begining of disk" it shaved 20 seconds of my bootup time.![]()
I read that, thought oooooh, was about to go and try it and remembered my OS is on an SSD. *facepalm* lol.
If you aren't defragging the boot drive are defraggers much of a muchness or do some still do a better job? I'm a Defraggler user myself but I'll switch if another does a better/quicker job on data drives.

I can't seem to find that option in properties. Any more information?![]()
JKDefrag is good one![]()

I stopped using that after it shafted my machine
Would defo not recommend 3rd party defraggers anymore.
In terms of Defraggers, the actual defragging routines are all the same thing. The programs themselves dont actualy do any defragging as such, they do however provide different GUI's.
I was told recently about SMART DEFRAG... Its a free one and I had a quick look when my mate told me about it, but I myself use O&O and I never thought of using any other since I found O&O many moons ago.
I think that v8.6 was their best version and the newer ones are awful. I am not buying it again unless they go back to the v8.x interface or even better before that when it also defragged folders properly.
They decide how to move and locate the files using the Windows defrag API to achieve this so they aren't all equal.
