Howdy!

I'm fairly n00bish when it comes to linux, but I've used PCLOS before, and know my way round the CLI a fair bit..

I'm tired of being a software pirate, but I don't have cash to chuck at software at the mo

I use my OS for: Gaming (mostly Q3 variants, so fine on Linux), watching videos (I assume people recommend VLC on linux too?) and photoshop (this is where I'm worried - I know it doesn't work well in WINE, so I'll need to get used to GIMP).

I've been looking on the Arch site, but from what I've read it doesn't seem very n00b freindly

I like clean, minimal interfaces.. and I'll keep an XP drive for Lan Parties

Recommend me a distro?

Yer go with Ubuntu, but if you have some experience and want to learn more Arch is defiantly the way to go!

Then if you want to have a play around with Linux try Arch.
