Can someone help me set up a way to drain my loop please. Just link me the parts I need to order.

I have 16/10 tubing.

It can either be a tap or some quick releases. The thing needs to be ordered today as I'm building Tomorrow.

I like the Koolance QD3 quick releases, just stay away from the black version as there have been reports of the paint falling off and clogging up systems.

And remember that you will need an extra pair of quick releases for the drain hoses if you go that route.

Was looking at them quick releases but only one half is in stock for my tubing size on the black ones. The shiny ones don't go with my build.

If I was at the computer this might be easier for me but because I'm on my phone I just can't come to a decision.

Would I also need a fill port anywhere in my build? I have been assuming my pump/res combo would have one. Just came to mind now.

I have always used reservoirs that you can fill from the top, usually EK cylindrical ones.

What top are you using?

Well then you are good to go. just fill from the top of the res.

As for using a drain port (instead of quick disconnects), it can be as simple as just placing a 3-way split at the out port of the res, and plugging it, optionally adding a valve or a piece of hose at the end.

Its hard to say what you should get as you surely have aesthetic considerations for your build, but here is something that would work technically (please ignore the terrible color combinations :D ):

(also noticed that ocuk seem to be keeping a rather low/no stock of these more "specialized" wc parts)

So a 3 way T shaped fitting with a plug in one end? Seems do able. I do have very limited space - evolv itx case so going to be a squeeze.

Thanks for them tips. I never thought of doing it that way.

How would I drain from it? Turn that he hang off and turn upside down to let that hehe liquid move out of the way and that he hehe hen unplug it and turn it back?

Thinking the tap might be the safer option.

Is it OK to have a T junction with a tube leading only to the tap? Or would that cause some sort of awful flow disruption?

Its sort of depending on your loop.

Just having a plug can work if a few drops of fluid below it is acceptable once you need to drain it (you just put some paper below).
Because due to physics and stuff, if you only unscrew that plug in the loop, and assuming it is not leaking in air anywhere else, the fluid will not come gushing out as there is no way for air to get inside. And you can simply attach a piece of hose there and after that unscrew ex. the fill port in the reservoir to let air in (and fluid out through the drain)

But yes, a drain valve or a piece of hose with a plug at the end that you can aim outside the case before unscrewing the plug is obviously the superior choice.

As for having t-junctions and a dead end, its no problem, fluid will flow wherever there is least resistance, and in this case its around the loop.
If you have a dead end, you might want to, when you fill your loop, open it once to fill it with fluid.

Ok thanx for the tips here. Started to panic as I'm going to start the build Tomorrow and I don't want to struggle when I have to change something.

Just hope I find them in stock. So I will need 4 fittings as well won't I? 3 for the T and one for the tap.

Well I have had to order from EKWB and the best they can do is 9th December. I was sure I saw a one day delivery last time I checked.

How would/should I go about adding this kit to my already built ( I'm going to build it Tomorrow I can't stop thinking about it so it has to be done ) loop?

A T junction and a tap. It will need to go between gpu and rad or rad and pump, not sure until I have done it.

Absolute PITA. You'll have to drain the loop to add it in. Depending on where you are putting it depends on how well you need to drain it. If it's just by the pump then it wouldn't be too bad

i think ill just test everything works and then i will put all my WC parts in the case and wait for the T junction and tap from EKWB and then finish it. might be in time for xmas lol
