Im finally going to make the move to dslr photography after using a bridge camera for the last 5 years .

My budget is around £400 -£450 for the body only .Or if i can get a body with a decent kit lense all the better .

Will be using the camera for sports photography ,wildlife and night time street photography etc as i am a creature of the night lol .

Also would like a camera with HDR metering mode if possible .

Been looking at a nikon d3200 as it is a bargin at the moment at under £300 for just the body but has no hdr mode . Also the nikon d5100 but as im new to this i dont want to blow my money on a camera that is no good for what i intend to use it for ,

Not fussed on brand just want a decent camera to start my new hobby and dont want to spend a fortune .

Also hoping to buy my first DSLR this week. Deciding between Nikon D5100 and the Canon 600D. Don't think the Canon does HDR though can't that be done with software later?

In camera HDR on the Nikon only combines two exposures, you will almost certainly get better results by taking more exposures and using software. It's a bit of a gimmick really.

HDR really is overrated. It's a tool to be used in very specific and in-frequent scenarios. My humble opinion, of course.

Can anyone recommend the Sony Alpha 57/58 ? Been reading a few reviews but would prefer a first hand view of somene that actually has one.

You could get a brand new d7000 with 3 years warranty for £479 at HDEW!

I can't tell if those prices include VAT. They seem a little cheap if they do include it. I'm not about to fill out a load of forms to just find out! Does anyone else know?

Magic lantern on the Canons give you customizable exposure bracketing. You still need to combine the exposures yourself but it will let you decided how many exposures to take and what step.

They are cheap because they don't buy their stock through the official UK supply channels. However most manufacturers will still honour the warranty if the kit is supplied by a UK company.

However that price does not include a lens.

Not 100% the same but i have the A65 model, its fantastic for sport and videos.. i did hsave a 500D before this but between the two the 500D was like a cheap toy.. in my eyes..
