Spec me a DSLR

Hi folks,

Basically i'm looking for a DSLR that would be good for dog agility (Among other things). What exactly should i be looking for? Obviously shutter speed but anything else? Would i need any lens in particular?

Im fairly new to photography but did a module on it at uni so im aware of principles and how to use a 50d to a fair extent!

Open too all suggestions really, as cheap as possible as it would be a hobby.

Edit: was looking at some 450d's? They seem good but not sure about shutter speed.

You probably want a high frame-rate if you're shooting dog agility so as to get the shot you want, so look at that as a feature before you buy.

If you can use a 50D then go for a second hand 50D they are the last of the really well built consumer models, have a good sensor, iso excellent for the money and have a decent frame rate for shooting moving images.

No movie-mode though if that is somehting you want.
