Spec me a fan

It's getting to that point where I need a fan in my room. The previous one I used was a circular fan, which was noisy as hell. I think I binned it last year.

Are these tower fans any decent? A lot of them are around the £50 mark, which is fine.

you have half a chance of getting a second hand air conditioner on ebay for that price. if you don't mind increase in elec bill.

I have just bought a tower fan from Argos, £39.99 with remote control and very quiet. Part number 290/6102. This is far quieter than my previous tower fan which was the Argos basic one.
