Okay I want to get back into fighting games, my bro has just invested in a massive arcade stick and one of the street fighters for his 360 and after watching and having a quick go I decided I really want to start playing these games again.

This is where you come in OCUK, I need some recommendations for a fighting game as I'm completely bewildered by the sheer choice there is. Just to give you an idea of what I'm after I was a big fan of soul calibre 2 on the GC, DOA4 on the 360 and Tekken 2 on PS1. I think I'm looking for a more 'technical' fighter as appose to a button masher, oh and preferably something that can be played with one of those arcade sticks (recommendations for this welcome too ;))

Well the obvious is Super Street Fighter IV Tournament Edition

If you truly want something technical, try Blazblue but i really do think that would be a baptism of fire. I wasn't too bad at Street Fighter when i was at my best, but BlazBlue was just a whole other level of difficult.

I see - yer like I said I was a fan of the above but was never a 'hardcore' player of them so anything that requires me to sprout two extra thumbs and give up a 'normal' life is off limits lol

I'm not a beginner but I'm no expert either - I'll check out SF IV tourny edition though cheers :)

Id choose Mortal Kombat, but that is less technical but does require some skill to be good.

But if blood and gore isnt your thing, then maybe SF or Tekken 6 (although never played Tekken 6)

hmmm mortal combat never really grabbed me, So I'm thinking Super Street Fighter IV Arcade edition is the one to go for - possibly with the SF IV tournement edition arcade stick?

Played the demo for 3rd strike last night and I gotta say I was mighty impressed! may just get this for the time being, anyone else got it?

Id personally recommend either Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition or Street Fighter 3: Third Strike Online Edition which has just been released. Or you could get both!

okay I went ahead and ordered SSIV AE - does this come with all characters - costumes and power up packs, or do I have to get these as DLC?

thought I'd post in here again rather than starting a new thread, but does anyone know where I can pick up a Hori real arcade pro ex for under £100? tried variuos places and there all charging stupid money for them!

Does it have to be that exact stick?

The Qanba Q4 dual console sticks are the cream of the crop, although they are £130.

hmmmmm not exactly but something like that with the 8 button layout next to the stick instead of the 6 - I'll have a look at the Q4 though cheers
