Spec me a File Viewer please

Try to imagine a directory that belongs to a person eg SMITH John A12345.
Inside that directory will be mainly lots of DOC & PDF but we also want to be able to drag an email thread title into it containing all the information in that email and XLS files.
The File Viewer will need it's own File Manager on the left side and when a file is clicked on (not double clicked) you will see that file in the Viewer Pane to the right.
It would also have to be able to view DOCX and XLSX files.

Any suggestions?

If your willing to spend some (or a lot of) cash, Directory Opus may be able to do most of that, but I'm unsure about what you mean with the e-mail bit.

Otherwise, it sounds like you might need a custom piece of software written if you want that exact functionallity.

Directory Opus is the first thing I put on my computer and I've had it since it was a baby and called Norton Navigator.
It is the one program I can't live without.
I have downloaded the free 30 day demo and going to ask IT to install it at work for my Manager and I know she'll love it.
There are 5 team members and the multi-user works out at around £30 each.
I actually use a portable version of it on my machine at work.
