Spec me a firewall

I've been using zonealarm for years without any major problems, until recently when it's taken the decision to randomly block all internet traffic.

I know a lot of people say dont use a firewall if your behind a router etc, but i like being able to control what's going out of my system.

So whats the recommendations chaps? free and easy to use please

Sp2 built in firewall is absolutely fine if you are behind a hardware firewall. Ok it doesn't monitor outgoing stuff but if you have sufficient AV in place you will be covered.

Comodo is good but not necessary imo.

I liked Online Armor, but have gone back to SP2 firewall.

I tried that but it was a bit too fiddly for me I think.

I'm still using Sygate Pro, hasn't been updated in years thanks to Symantec but that makes no difference. Works flawlessly and doesn't bother you in any way.
