Spec me a first build please?

Hi guys, i'm looking at building my very own Pc for the first time, i'd like to gain the knowledge as i feel it will come in useful and i've always wanted to build my own.

So i was thinking i'd build a small pc for my living room, mainly for watching films/browsing the net, and maybe flash games, nothing serious.
i'd quite like it to be a mini itx build but it doesn't need to be. My budget is low at about £300-330 ideally i wouldn't like to spend any more than this.
I only need the rig and OS, no monitor (i'll be using my Tv) no peripherals either as i have some spare laying around.

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks Tamzzy, i thought i was being a bit optimistic to get a build with OS for my budget but that was spot on! only thing i'd change is the case, as i'm not to keen on that Cooler Master one.

That's a great spec.

You can replace the case but for the money the case is solid..

Can anyone improve on this build?(keeping price similar) Or recommend swapping certain bits? As I'll be ordering this next week so if there is any room for improvement I need to know now lol.

Do you need 256Gb ssd why not 120Gb SSD also case is big if you are sitting it under the tv.

Do you need Cdrom Drive if not the more powerfull cpu the AMD Athlon 5350 2.05GHz Quad Core Processor

I would change motherboard to This AM1H-ITX and use a power brick 120watts instead of the superflower less mess,

I was looking at changing the case to this, 'Antec ISK 600 Small Form Factor ITX Chassis'
But unfortunately the PSU mentioned above doesn't fit.. and i can't seem to find one with the right dimensions for this case, not at the same price bracket anyway. will it 100% not fit? lol.

No usb 3.0 on front of case and can only use 2.5inch drives

I have the Cooler master elite 130 and it slides around like its on ice when you try to plug in a usb stick in the front ports also the Antec ISK 600 slides around as well from looking at a youtube video.
I had to buy a none slip matt to put under my case.

Thanks chippy, definitely a thread worth looking through. just makes it even harder as it's amazing what some of these guys have put into such a small case lol. although post 905 & 919 are a different case to the one i meant.

That's the one i was talking about. but judging by some of the stuff these guys are cramming into their mini itx cases the PSU mentione above should go in? seeing as i'm not having a GPU or a fancy heatsink.

Also, forgive my ignorance but some of these don't even look like the have a PSU lol, am i missing something?

Do you know this board AM1H-ITX runs off a laptop power supply and has 2 more sata ports.

I regret buying my elite 130 case as it was too big for my needs i should have gone for the Antec ISK-110 case and took its power supply out of the case as i wouldnt need it as i use a power brick instead,

yeah, see i didn't even realize using one of those was an option. i've never seen one with a adapter that'll plug into a motherboard, but i guess it has to be one like you mentioned above even though i couldn't actually find that one on OCUK's website lol.

Oc dont sell it but it was voted the best AM1 board by several review sites
