You could always try and find a Focus Collection which has got a "RS" bodykit on. Thats what I've done for my first car

Mother doesn't drive and if I remember rightly it hardlt changes when adding just my Pa.

Dammit unlucky dude, mothers generally knock a good few hundred of car insurance! Over 50, 30+ years driving no accidents, and she does my washing 
You just need to find some lonley old girl and be her toy boy... then add her to your insurance

How about a 1.6/1.8 Astra sxi?? I perfered the looks and the drive of the Astra over the Focus, but thats only my opinion and best bet is to drive a few and see which takes your fancy. Insurance on the Astra will be pretty much the same as the focus, and I found the the difference in price to insure the 1.8 over the 1.6 was only about £20 and the mpg is almost the same.
Awful cars. I personally don't like the looks (Rover 200 + Halfords) but they're nasty inside too. Awful ride as well. I have a Clio Cup suspension setup so I'm used to a harsh ride, the MG I went in didn't feel like it had any suspension.
