Hey all,

I'm thinking of getting a fitness tracker, But I'm not sure what I should get.

I was looking at the jawbone UP3 and the Fitbit Charge HR, they seem very feature filled and Track heartrate....which seems a really good metric, but I don't know how much it helps in practice.

The exercise I do is cycling to work, gym, and running 3 times a week.

It seems a lot of the cheaper trackers are more alert bands that remind you to manually track on an app. I don't mind interacting with an app, it's just I'd like some automation, also I have a 5" phone, so would prefer to not lug it around for ever exercise.

any and all advice welcome, Thanks :)

I got one, I look gooooood ;)
problem is I don't now if I'm thin or healthy from that :p

Are you already fit and seeking to get fitter or is this a new year's resolution? If it's the latter, may I suggest you try exercising a bit first and see if you take it to? As I'm sure a lot of these trackers end up gathering dust.
I'd consider myself fit, I've done half marathons, cycle everyday and football every week. I've added gym as my work moved to new premises rather than as a new year thing. I'm trying to even myself out as I've been almost all Leg work. (cycling/football/running)
Featured filled is pretty handy and the apps usually have breakdowns of how these metrics apply to your health. :) They're not expecting you to be fitness experts.

Whatever works though really. Fitbits are pretty solid with a decent battery life. Even ties in with other apps like Weight Watchers(for iOS with HealthKit anyway).

Ultimately though, I guess you will just have to take the plunge and see which you prefer.

Yeah, taking the plunge is the costly problem :p

I suppose there seems to be a great jump in price with these trackers when you add heartrate, I dunno if I need that really, I've never followed what my bodies doing in that respect.

Well in my eyes I was counting gps watch with hrm AS a fitness tracker.
gym i'm doing weights and a circuit training class done at work.

Would you suggest a good watch and hrm, and sync them to a compatible app? (so 2 dedicated devices/ one device that does both)
