Budget around £500, Would look to buy it pre-built. Would need a network card to connect to wi-fi and lost of USB slots for peripherals.

Would need quite to be able to handle multiple screens, probably 3-4

Happy with windows 7 over 8

You will really struggle to get a rig to run FSX on 3-4 screens for that kind of money.

You're looking at £800-£1000 minimum really.

Depending on what add-ons/settings you're running, FSX kind of needs both.
AFAIK there was a service pack that expanded the number of cores it could use too, but I think that also is add-on dependant.

I am sure you could get something used for that budget. It will depends on what you are expecting quality and resolution wise.

I used to run 3 x 24" on my Q6600 (overclocked) with a HD5850 and I found it acceptable with light addons. I certainly have no issues whatsoever with my i5 at 4.2Ghz and HD7850

We may be able to sort something but nothing ideal. No upgradability to it. So if extra £'s can be found it would be well the worth the effort.

FSX is quite CPU heavy and single threaded too, which rules out an AMD CPU, as their single thread performance is poor (to say the least).

That being said, if you're willing to overclock (and experiment on a setup) the Pentium K edition may be up your street. But it will need a big(ish) OC for any effect around 4.5Ghz.

What do you think about this idea OP?
