Ok first time ive asked for something to be specced out lol...im after a decent food steamer...something i can steam fish and veggies in.

Not looking for something stupidly expensive...something around £50 or nearabouts...just after one thats steams decently and does it well and also one that cleans pretty easily ie doesnt take half a day to clean etc lol.

I take it Tefal ones are pretty good??....had a look at argos range and theres a few there but any recommendations would be most helpful.

TIA

I recently shopped online for a steamer. I found out it's best to avoid the electric type. They take ages, can scale up etc. So I went for the stove top saucepan style and they work well. The 18 cm Stainless Steel Three Tier Steamer by Clearview to be exact.

I got rid of our electric steamer, it was such a ball ache and took up so much space.

We got a set of 3 stacking pan ones from Ikea - don't have to wait for them to warm up, stack away easily - so much better.

I've had a Tefal steamer for years. It's fine - not one of the fancy ones, but it does have a keep warm function where it gives a shot of steam every couple of minutes after the main cooking time is over without cooking the veggies any further.

It's this one: http://www.google.co.uk/products/ca...HPJMW1hAebgs3nDQ&ved=0CLMBEPMCMAc#scoring=tps. I didn't give £40 for it though, it cost me about £25 in Costco.

I've got one of these, can't really fault it: http://www.morphyrichards.co.uk/Intellisteam.aspx

Bung everything in, set the timers, then it cooks everything at the same time and keeps it warm (up to 40 mins) afterwards. Very handy for when you can't really be bothered when you get home from work!

For some odd reason, the older model is more expensive than the newer one, so make sure if you're Googling (especially if you're looking on a certain rainforest site) that you use the model number 48781 (should be about £65)

EDIT: Odd, the main Morphy Richards site actually shows you pics of the older model, so if you want to see the newer one, check the rainforest site ;)
