I need to measure up a new home soon and I'm thinking "why look like someone stuck in the past, when I can use this opportunity to use a huge great frickin' lazor beem!"

But on a slightly more serious note, i will be needing to measure window frames and various other dull measurements, so I thought i'd save time by getting a laser rule (no idea what the proper term is!)

I've done some Googling, but all the results seem to be devices that measure long distances (I need something that's accurate to within cm - preferably mm!)

Any suggestions welcome! :p
 
We use a leica disto D2, about £130 but but very accurate (1.5mm over 60m), the more expensive ones are even more accurate but we like a compact unit :)

In other laser related news, something arrived in the post today. Will make a thread about it another time :D (something a little more powerful than the Bosch) :O
