anybody use a smeg? wanted one for ages but found it hard to justify the cost as would need to re-do the kitchen to fit.

Myself to replace a Samsung of the same that died on me and the parts are no longer sourceable heh. Only had my Samsung for 5 years aswell, what a waste!

Gf gets discount at currys and I dont mean to hijack but Im gunna.. so I do really, any advice/suggestions on something better for the same or cheaper?

Gotta be an american fridge freezer <3

I've no issue with the thread hijack, but you will get a much better response if you start a new thread with a detailed title, e.g. Spec Me an American Style Fridge Freezer. If you start a new thread I'll make some comments regarding what I've recently learnt about decent brands etc.

i think thats the one we have. had it 6 months and its been great. crushed ice on tap is a great thing!

I got the Bosch Exccel KGH34X50GB. I was getting a kitchen at the same time, and integrated FFs are really poor value for money and a bit less reliable, so I felt it was worth paying a touch more for a black gloss one - the right decision in retrospect. It looks great.

I also wanted to make sure I didn't have one with the hole at the bottom of the fridge, as loads of people I've seen get problems with water gathering there.

I've noticed my vegetables and fruit last longer in it than before, and I keep a thermometer in it to check temps and it does the job just great.
