Spec me a game

Ok, so I got a giftcard for xmas, so want to buy a new game with it, but don't know what to go for.

I like:
FPS (I have COD MW, WAW, MW2, BO, BF2, 2142, BC2, crysis)
RTS (I have C&C 3, 4, RedAlert 3, Supreme commander 1&2)

They're the main ones I like that are more modern.

Any suggestions for similar type games I could get?
 
well for rts, u could wait for this new wargames to come out.

fps u got the darkness 2? although i think it is 3rd person.

i notice u dont have bf3, are u just not interested in it ?

Dawn of War games are good for RTS although quite small in scale compared to SupCom.

As for FPS, looking at your list the obvious choices would be BF3, MW3 or Crysis 2 depending on what sort of experience you are looking for.

Already thought about MW3, but don't want it because of the lack of dedicated servers. Thought about BF3, but you can get that for £16, whereas it's £40 from the shop I have the voucher for, so no point buying that. Tried the demo for Crysis 2 when it came out, but I wasn't impressed, so not too bothered about that either.

Might have a look at Company of Heroes, Starcraft2 & Dawn of war though, see what they look like :)

Until then, anyone else got any ideas?
 
BF3 is a no brainer if you like MW kind of FPS; you may/should also try ARMA2:reinforcements- it has superb graphics, much more freedom and space.
 
maybe try swtor? I know its not under your genre list but you can always try it and it is modern.

Any of the total war games or the new Wargame which is on steam to pre-order now and that lets you then download the Mplayer Beta Very good game for what iv played so far :)
 
for something with an RPG and FPS Element I would through S.T.A.L.K.E.R as it hasnt been mentioned yet. or am i the only one that really, really likes that game!? :)
