Hi guys,

Could you spec me a good gaming headset that has a mic but I can also use to listen to music.

I currently have a set of creative fatality's but the volume when listening to music is pretty poor. I know its not good for me but I like to have it pretty loud, I love listening to my music in the evening.

I have been looking at the HS1A's but I don't know if they are going to be any better than what I have now. Would prefer with a headset with audio jacks as apossed to USB.

Price £30-£40 max.

I owned a pair of HS1A's for a couple of days and ended up giving them to my neice, the main problem with them is they seem to lack bass.

The bass isn't a massive issue for me because of the style of music I like to listen too.

Whats the volume like on them?

I have read that the HS1 is the better choice for people with on board sound cards, is this correct?

Just trying to decide which are the best option for me.

On board sound does have a lower quality than separate.

but USB soundcards are always worse imo.

Read this article about gaming headsets it may help.

quote from that article

To USB or Not to USB?

I always will recommend for sound cards, anything you can afford is better than onboard but NEVER use USB soundcards!!! USB stands for Universal Serial Bus; yes serial… are we in the 90’s? NO we use core i7 processors that can process a million times faster!! In a USB there are only 4 wires that are connected to the computer 1. Power (5 Volts), 2. Ground, 3. Data IN, 4. Data OUT. Data IN/OUT are sent serial, meaning one bit at a time, meaning very slow

Got these today and mind = BLOWN.

Absolutely love them. Perfect for me and for the price, probably the best headset I have ever owned.

Creative Fatality, what?

I know what people are saying about the bass. That said, with Bass Boost enabled through windows, the problem is dramatically reduced.
