Spec me a gaming keyboard

Merc Stealth ii (the 2nd edition) awesome kb.....has backlighting, macros, media keys, extra gaming pad....cant game without it.

Im on Vista 32bit SP1

you're entitled to your valid opinion of course but i would strongly disagree with the logic there :)

spacing of the buttons along with a larger size definately makes using the keys much more comfortable and results in less pressing of the wrong keys along with less hand cramp. i think this stands to reason.

regarding the space betwen your hands - well id say it has no bearing at all on how comfortable the gamer is unless they are very far apart - for those that do feel that way however, because everyone has their own preferences, I suggest the original zboard layout which is what i have, hands are pretty much spaced the same. does mean swapping keyboards over when you want to type normally though but i dont mind.

@ lunarwolf: have to say I'm far more interested in the Tatu lesbian kiss than the keyboard. I suspect that will be truly pish for gaming.

I'd completely agree with that! Just a standard board for a lot of cash. :eek:

Although personally i'm not massively bothered as i was lucky enough to get one for £35. Looks nice and matches my other kit nicely. :cool:

Whoa, cheers for all the responses. I don't suppose anyone could post how wide the boards are? It's just my desk isn't the widest and I might need to do some changes :)
 
Wow, some great keyboards. I love the look of the razer lycosa and roccat valo, they look even better than my Saitek Eclipse 2 (which btw is 18*50 cm without the wrist rest). Only thing wrong with the Eclipse 2 is the backlight comes up in the gaps between the keys, it's lovely to type on though and good value.

you can always use a classic key press see Optimus-Maximus with LED keys below

however I think that Optimus-Tactus concept could be a cool idea, opens new door to key config design, like gliding your fingers instead of pressing, think the tech could allow for some out of the box thinking.
