As per the title, I am looking for a 15-17" gaming laptop to replace my GT72 - GTX 980M.

I would like 120Hz IPS screen, minimum GTX 1070, 256GB+ PCIe NVMe SSD (RAID option preferred), 1TB+ HDD, backlit keyboard, etc....

I have a severe aversion to MSI (see link in sig as to why).

Thanks for any suggestions.

you think you got problems with MSI , even though your machine is faultless as your problem is your pride . any way if you go Auros just be prepard to have scan lines on screen and very bad cooling and over heating issues .

Read my thread, I always said the machine is amazing. It is.

However, MSI did not fulfill their advertising, then mislead their customers on the solution, whilst making insulting offers.

But let's keep that topic to that thread ;)

Will have a look at that auros. Thanks.

props to you :) nice quick response also compared to a certain company :)

Specifically with the 120Hz stripping issue - we are offering any customer who has a model with the 120Hz panel, and reports "unacceptable" level of stripping (subjective we know) that we will take the unit back and switch to another specification of panel (FHD, WQHD+) We believe this to be the best and fairest solution for our customers.

Amen brother.

AORUS please :-)

Regards,

Team AORUS

Oooops.

And then there is this: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/aoru...l-core-i7-6820hk-gaming-laptop-lt-02e-au.html

This hit's the nail squarely on the head.

ORDERED.

Just for comparisons sake, this is my GT73VR score;

I'm happy to have a slightly lower score (~200 pts) for something I can carry around in one hand, and not suffer the issues some of the GT73VR/GT72VR owners have been having. :)

Screw you guys :p

I get excited hitting just short of 13,000 :D

There is something amiss here Andr3w. My AORUS is thinner than your machine you should be getting well over 14k.

I'm looking for a transportable and reliable machine that's worth the £. does this fit the bill?

I've had my X5 a few days now and I'm massively impressed.

It's a sleek and sexy machine, with a beautiful finish.

Performance is stunning (coming from a 980M).

Far Cry Primal 90fps in ultra.

It's svelte form factor makes this easy to transport without it being heavy either.

I think it's well worth the cost.

I'm going to knock up a full review of my in the next few days.
