Budget = £40 - £60

I play mostly FPS' like BF4, Far Cry 3, Crysis 3 etc... But also other titles like Skyrim, The Witcher 2. Two thumb buttons will generally be required.

I have fairly large hands and I find mice with higher backs more comfortable for my grip, so a gaming mouse with an adjustable back height could be good.

Cheers :)

IIRC DeathAdders have a pretty high back? Not sure some of these new Roccats might be more apt. I'm sure someone else will know.

i just purchased a death adder myself and i absolutely love it, it fits my lanky hands much better thank my previous crappy mouse :) i also play battlefield 4 and the 4g sensor in it works great, just an overall sturdy mouse and to me it just shouts quality, it also has 2 side buttons

Fits nice in my hand, I'd say I have average sized paws.

The thumb buttons are withing easy reach and don't effect the mouse position, the "sniper" button is ok but cannot be binded to any other function that ultra low dps.

If the sniper button isn't your cup of tea there is another Corsair mouse without the button. You also have 3 customisable dpi setting you can change on the fly which helps as I use

200dpi Sniper Butoon
400dpi Infantry
800dpi Tanks/Armour
1100dpi Heli/Plane

All there are the press of a button. The led lights are also not intrusive and don't interupt gameplay for me. I hardly notice them tbh.

The weight is good and can be altered if you buy different weights it alsohas a lot of customisable features in the downloadable software. Tracks well and has improved my fps enjoyment a lot, I can game for upto 7h and my hand doesnt feel tired afterwards. The green and white colours don't appeal to me I have the black one and it does pick up some sweat residue from your hands but that doesn't impinge on the performance.

The usb lead is huge and very sturdy braided design. Solid USB connector and it's Corsair which means the build quality is generally good, although I have heard mixed reviews on their RMA department.

If I was you I would go onto the rainforest website and buy a few and then return the ones you don't like. Think you have 2 weeks or something.

A mouse is very personal, I bought mine because overall I loved the look and haven't regretted it since, I bought a Corsair smooth MM and its very smooth

Just my 2p.

I see, thanks for the info.

Are those different dpi settings for sniper/tank etc programmed to a separate button each on the M65 or do you cycle through them by pressing the single sniper button, by the way?

Be careful with the M65 though. It uses the ADNS 9800 which is dodgy on some surfaces. I'm pretty sure the positive acceleration issues are still there too. It also jitters at high DPI from what I've read.

edit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a0UsrdUvf2A acceleration issues demonstrated here. If that's not a big deal to you then by all means consider the M65. Just be aware that it's there.

It has an up and down button and 3 lights below the mouse wheel which act as a visual guide as to what setting you are on, one click and it ramps it up/down depending on your need.

The sniper button is constantly set as 200, to activate it you use hold the hold and it all goes verrrrry slow.

I had a razor MM which was a rough surface and the corsair didn't like it much.

I would stay clear of Roccat, I had the Kone+ 6000dpi, scroll was god awful.

Using my brothers old Razer mouse at the minute, think it might be a Razer Viper must be at least 6 years old and still going strong! Quality products.

Best bet is to substitute it with "rainforest".
