Cheers, i am in search for a mouse basically for FPS and occasionally some RPG (Witcher 2).

I currently have a sidewinder x5, and while the extra buttons are ok, the mouse is not as heavy as i would like it to be even with the 30g weights attached. I know that some find it heavy already but i need something heavier as i prefer resistance. Also build quality matters a lot to me.

So i have been looking at the Cyborg R.A.T. 7, seems what i want in terms of weight. What do you recommend? Money is not an issue so any suggestion is welcome. :)

In terms of weight, then you're probably right about the R.A.T. 7 but I'd go for a Steelseries Sensei if you want excellent build quality and an exceptionally good mouse.

Seems a very solid mouse but it doesnt have adjustable weights so cant risk it.

Logitech G9x gets my vote.

Haven't bought a logi mouse since g5(which i loved). I wonder how is the g9x's build quality. Price is pretty good.

Razer Mamba - build quality is excellent. Option of using it corded or cordless and it has extra buttons for mapping macros. Razer have just re-released the updated Mamba so I'd look at that. Seriously the best mouse I have ever used :)

Avoid the rats, sensor is know to be god-awful. Only rarely have issues with mine on low battery but not worth the risk.

Razer, good mice, but terrible customer service if any thing goes wrong with them.

Steelseries Sensei would be one on my short list.

I don't pretend to be up there with the big-boy gamers, but I have had a Roccat ROC-11-501 Kone 3200dpi (also comes with a choice of weights) for a while - and it rocks!

Ok after lots of thought, i have come down to four candidates:

Cyborg R.A.T. 7
Steelseries Sensei
Logitech g9x
Roccat Kone

I will try them out at the local retail shop and decide.:)

I love my rat 7, adjustable weights, although I use it at full weight, massively customisable, fits nicely to my grip and there's a pinkie rest!!! :D:D

i like my deathadder tbh but maybe not heavy enough for you guys with weighted mice i dunno but i would stay with a corded not a wireless mouse

Absolutely loving my Razer Deathadder. As above it's not a particulally heavy mouse but find it great for stuff like Battlefield 3.

Ended up getting the R.A.T. 7. Tried out the M60 and while i find it more suitable for my hand's shape and size, its a lot lighter from what i wanted.

The RAT seems a solid mouse, with excellent build quality contrary to what others say, but its probably true that it won't survive a fall from like 1m high from the desk. Just saying...:p

Surprised I never saw this thread and tried to convince you to get a Logitech, must try harder next time.

Go for the Sensei, the RAT 7 is poor build quality.

I ended up returning mine after less than two months, I'm amazed I didnt consider the Sensei in the first place, it's without a doubt the best mouse I've owned and hope to not have to replace it :) going well so far!!
