I need to get a new mouse. I have been using a wireless Microsoft mouse up to now that was fine but it has died. I only have the Magic Mouse which is pretty much unusable for gaming.

Any recommendations on something that works well under both OSX and Windows? Ideally not much more than £50ish

I want something that will last as well.

I'd say get a wired mouse, wireless mice are more trouble than it's worth and they die in the most inconvienient of times.

I'd say some of the great gaming mice on the market are;

Steelseries Sensei - Really nice mouse, side grip is one of the best materials I've ever felt. Great software, can change sensitivity on the underside of the mouse, left or right handed. can change colours on the mouse through software to every html colour, it's the one I own so I know the most about and I'd highly recommend it, get a steelseries mousepad with this also.

Logitech G500 - Another great mouse, like above except it fills your palm more, you have many buttons you can assign things too, 3 on the go sensitivity settings that are changable. The only thing I didn't like about this mouse was the grip on the sides of the mouse, it was like a really rough surface rubber and didnt feel great if my hands were sweaty.

Rat Mice - GAMUR MOUSE ricer **** and looks horrible.

Razer Mice - These felt nice in a shop I visited but I dont really trust razer because of my pas experience with them.

Fowie Mice- I hear these mice are great, a lot of people compare the c2 to the sensei, another good brand

OTher mice that I have no knowledge on that may be good are the corsar mice. Could look into those

G500! It takes a little getting used to the rough edges which are meant to stop you slipping without the usual rubber grip sores. Great mouse with 5 set DPI control and auto switching profiles for games. Profiles for Call of Duty so I can use shotguns, snipers, machine guns and pistols all with just the click of a button.

It can change profile with Application Detection. You then have 5 predefined DPI profiles to pick from with just a click.

Pros;
Braided Cable
1000hz polling
Great for Claw or Palm gaming
Switchable scroll wheel for click type scroll or smooth scroll
Customization weights
Completely re-programmable buttons (can even do left click only if already programmed somewhere else)
Smooth to move (Providing you have a nice mouse mat, Razer Goliathus Extended Control for me)
Works on clear glass 3mm+ thick

Cons;
Grips get a bit of getting used to
Software cannot pickup some games
Could do with heavier weights (personal preference)

And its less then £40 (excluding postage)

YOUR BASKET
1 x Logitech G500 5700DPI Gaming Mouse (910-001262) £39.98
Total : £44.98 (includes shipping : £4.16).

Would recommend for anyone!

Razer Naga all the way.. love that mouse..

Razer Synapse is also amazing keeping the settings sycned with cloud.

Well logitech mice tend to be bullet proof. And if you palm grip a g400 would be a good choice. As long as it worls on both Windows and OSX.

Bought a Zowie EC2 eVo from overclockers the other day. It's more between a palm and claw grip I've found. Great mouse and under your budget also. Plus requires no drivers to install, so might work on both Windows and OSX.

I use to love razer, i think aesthetically the nicest. However i always have issues with their drivers. Switched over to Cyborg R.A.T. 7. Wow do i love their customization change the size and weight of the mouse to suit your needs!
