Hi everyone I have been a member on here a long time but just had a baby girl 10 months ago so had no spare time to come on here, I have build 2 gaming pcs in the past but always sold them due to not playing them much but I am keeping this next one as going to connect up to my downstairs TV and hopefully upgrade to 4k TV in future.

Any way I will have to watch vids again etc to see how it all goes together but hopefully be ok, also sure I have windows 7 somewhere on disk so wont need an operating software , the pc in mainly for gaming I love the total war series and many RTS games but may play other types of games, so I need it to play Attila total war and the upcoming Warhammer total war etc on high settings if possible

my budget is £450-500 obviously I can stretch slightly if makes a massive difference but don't want to go to far over that price and I want the pc to play the latest games and last at least 2-3 years of recent games and play them effortlessly if possible

any help would be greatly appreciated as I don't have a clue about hardware also is it worth having a ssd ?

thanks again Dean

Hi Dean037, just wanted to say you are not being ignored, i've finally found a guide for system specs but it seems all over the place in terms of parts and what you can expect ingame. This has taken a few hours already, not joking. :(

This is what i'm working from http://www.twcenter.net/forums/show...-Hardware-Recommendations-(Currently-Updating)

Will get you a spec as soon as i can figure out what will be a good match with what for the least amount of money.

Thanks for the spec don't really like that tower case so will have a look and see if like any more any better if that's ok , also would it be better getting a larger ssd or will 120 gig be ok ? you think this would run the new total war etc no problem at all in high settings ?

And is the ram mother board and CPU the best way to go in bundle
Thanks again
Dean

Hi again micky sorry to be a pest I have been looking at cases and I know its small but really like the bitfenix prodigy m matx cube case , what's better the prodigy or prodigy m ? also it will be easier to move out of way of the kids as no spare rooms for office/gaming room anymore, I will be wanting black or white or the ying/yang mix of both with side window but don't mind spending bit extra on case so will original £500 is there any thing you would change ? would like to try keep colour scheme black and white so don't know if any other bundles have better colours for the job etc and would it all fit in this case ok ? and whats best cooler etc for this case ?

as long as all components play total war and latest rts games on max and for next couple years I will be a happy bunny lol thanks again and sorry if inconvenience

thanks dean

Very nice thanks for that Mickey, not sure weather to use a small case and mobo etc or a bigger one, is there any difference in performance etc ? Not sure weather to go with first spec as £100 difference would the 2nd spec need a CPU cooler or not ? Cannot decide what to do lol will check some other cases out as CPU and ram and mobo are expensive compared to the bundle

Thanks dean

If the PC is going into the living room then presumably it needs to be at least modestly child-proof? If so, then you might want to omit the optical drive.

Hi why would you recommended 4-8 gig graphics card will this future proof it and what does the graphics card use the memory for just processing the graphics, also I want a disk drive as like buying games in store rather than online, unless much cheaper, is the top set of components and better/ worse than the latest one, and does the lower one need CPU cooler ?

Any help or advise would be great
Thanks again

Hi would all components in 2nd setup listed fit In the BitFenix Prodigy m and not just the prodigy as think I would rather have the smaller case over the larger cases?

also what difference does it make having more memory in graphics card ? just thinking is it worth waiting for the 4gig one for an extra £20

will it make any difference in performance using the smaller mobo etc rather than the larger ones on the 1st list of components?

and lastly will I need a cpu cooler with the prodigy ?

also on 2nd thought might scrap the cd drive and just download games direct from steam, might get one of them nice bitfenix lcd screens with temps etc displayed if not to expensive

thanks again dean

Because accessing textures from VRAM is much faster than accessing them from main memory, never mind accessing them from the HDD.

think its worth paying £20 extra for the 4 gig memory card instead of 2 gig ?

any other component lists welcome if anyone thinks of any changes but I really like the prodigy m case and have £500 to spend and want to play the new total war games on high setting

thanks again dean
