Basically I'm thinking of taking a year out and just do something crazy I'm not really sure what to do though.

since snowboarding is a hobby of mine i was thinking going somewhere on an organized thing doing that for a year like become and instructor etc.

But i really don't know.
I want to go abroad somewhere and work.

Anyone got any suggestions ?

Bunac seemed quite good to me when I went over for a few months, the paperwork was all completed promptly and it helps to have some form of orientation when moving to a new country for the first time.

Icleand, absolutley beautiful country, going there next june in 2009. Surley a mountain or volcanoe to ski down :D.

And all the sites sounds and beautiful architecture of reykjavik is to die for. Seriosuly think about it, its better than you may think and i want to live there.

check out Raleigh International...

Its a voluntary organsation that run highly rewarding programmes in some great locations..

Hhmm..thats pretty cool and a lot cheaper aswell.

I remember when i went to canada on a school trip the company that did gap years there were : www.skilegap.com

but thats mega money
£7k+

Peakleaders is another one, I have a list of them somewhere. I was so close to going after hating my uni course in my first year...

And that snow kiting is now on my to do list. I saw someone playing around with one last week and was tempted but that looks even better. :D

Probably the only one that wants to experience it..

Watched some TV show about some students from UK going to india to work in the cotton industry, working hard and not getting paid much at al.

Would be an experience i guess, but not for everyone!

Hard labour etc.

i'm recruiting taxi drivers atm :)

come shift one of my cars for 12 months make plenty of cash and pick up some rough glasgow munters on a friday night :)

It will depend on the exact terms of the scheme but for something like the Bunac Work Canada programme you just need to be between 18 and 30. Each scheme should give more detailed terms for the eligibility.

So in anut shell if i'm 30 i'm ok. How does it exactly work , you pay them money they sort out visa and somewhere for you to work ?

A very good friend of mine is in tanzania at the moment volunteering. It's very expensive, think he had to pay £3500 but he's been there since january and is coming home at the end of july. He says its a right laught, theres soo many cool link minded people there and he insists there is more playing than working. The thing most people don't realise for these schemes is that getting the place is harder than just paying your cash, he went to several interviews in london befor being offered the role.
