Spec me a GC for BF3

Have an 17 sandybridge system and looking at a card for bf3

want to spend around 300/350 ish

looking at a MSI ATI Radeon HD 6970 Lightning 2048MB GDDR5

any better suggestions?

Hi forgot to mention that my monitor is 2560 x 1440 have read somewhere that the higher vram is better for high res, thats what pointed me towards the ati?

SLI and crossfire not really wanted or good for me as built system for photo editing and then along comes bf3 and brings me out of gaming retirement grrr (motherboard only suitable really for one GPU)

Mirror what I said above.

Twin 6950's. 2GB Vram each, you will be more than happy.

Mb has 1 slot @ 16x and second at 8x will it be a problem for crossfire performance?

Crossfire will likely be x8/x8 which isn't a problem. The performance reduction is very small from x16.

If you want confirmation of how your motherboard will run you'll need to give the specific model.

If you want a single gpu card the 580 is your best bet, if your happy to use multi gpu then you can get a pair of MSI ATI Radeon HD 6950 Twin FrozR II OC 2048MB for £380.

Where can I get 2 of these babies for £380 ive looked abd cannot find such a good deal
