Hi

I'm currently running an old 7870 and BENQ G2429HDBL monitor (24" 1080p)

PC is used just for gaming, mainly battlefield series and the odd driving game.

I feel like my current i5 2500k @4.2 has a bit of life left in it yet so with a budget of £700-£800 can I get something that will visually make me go "Wow"
AMD or Nvidia is fine.

I've never seen a 1440p monitor so don't know if that is the route I should be looking at. Or stay at 1080p .. I don't want a monitor larger that 27". I sit directly in front of the screen so not bothered about viewing angles.

If you good people can throw me some good gfx card / monitor combo's that would be terrific.

Motherboard is Asus P8Z68-V GEN3 Intel Z68 if that helps.

Thanks

Definitely life in that CPU yet. You could get a better card (1070) and a non g-sync/freesync screen for your budget.

This would give you ££ to spare and provide a decent visual upgrade over your current setup. Although that monitor is out of stock right now.
