Hi,

I am looking for a gfx card for video editing only....

Cheaper the better, however I have been told it should have VIVO and TVOUT...

Not for gaming...

Please help

Thanks in advance

Hey! Dont know all that much but the ATI new X1300 range might be what your after, if your on a tight budget then look at the Sapphire ATI Radeon X1300 256MB DDR2 AVIVO TV-Out/DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (GX-108-SP). It has AVIVO not sure bout tha TVOUT though, check the full spec on the Sapphire website... This card will suck for games though! But with the 1300 you get a certain amount of future proofing too! And at £58.69 its pretty cheap too.

I'm not too up on NVIDIA tech atm, but as far as i can see none of their graphics cards support AVIVO technology, it must just be an ATI thing. I have always viewed NVIDIA cards as a gaming only option for the best part, although they can obviously be used in other applications i dont see the same support for video enhancement that ATi offer. Hope that can help a bit, oh and have a look at overclockers MAtrox range of cards, they have a few good video enhanced options, but at a slightly higher price

You would also be able to use vivo video convertor which would allow you to convert videos crossformat like lightning

when i say video editing all i would like to do is copy footage from the mini camcorder tapes put it on my pc and then use virtualdub to cut some scenes...

So camcorder via s-video to pc, record footage onto hdd, then edit using virtual dub....

I dont even know if I need VIVO whatever that is????

I just need a basic graphics card that will allow me to do this?

pls advice...

Cheaper the better....thanks
