spec me a good mic for gaming

Fatal1ty gaming headset.

The sound quality from the headphones is AMAZING and so is the clarity of the mic.

People over ts and vent both say how clear it sounds.

The headset is fairly cheap and every review you read says how brilliant it is.

Top notch surround sound and a top of the range mic. Also the bass on the headset is very good.

The headset also includes a volume adjustment, and a microphone mute button attached to the wire. Plus the mic is detatchable in case you want to take it off.

The ear muffs are very comfortable and you can wear them for hours without even noticing them as they are made out of velvet.

load of tosh.

The guys already running a much superior sound setup to yourself.

He wants a stand alone mic to complement this, not some cheap gimmicky headset to replace it.

Yes I owned one and put it in the bin last week were it belongs. O and your comment about comfort.... they make your head ache after about 5 minutes and the muffs are too small to cover anyones ears, they press them into your head, this hurts.

As far as a mic goes, does it really matter as long as its understandable?

You vs. 100s of reviews. Reviews win.

Sorry but I have had this headset over 2 years and its supurb. There is absolutely no reason to hate this mic I think you have just had a bad experience. The comfort is amazing compared to many 'high end' headsets that use leather, leather gets hot in the summer and cold in the winter. Velvet is perfect in all conditions. Mabye you have big ears? lol no reason to not reccommend it to anyone else and put it down.

And by understandable I'm guessing you mean what does it mean if the mic is *detatchable*, quite simply... if you don't want to use the mic you can take it off. Rather than have it in front of you, better for you and prevents accidently breaking it, allows for easy packing for LAN's.

As for cheap and tacky lol whatever you say. Just because something doesn't cost £££££ doesn't mean its rubbish. Like I said, 2 years not a SINGLE fault with it. I say this, and so does 100s of reviews, both idependent and customer.

After looking at your headphones I will however agree you have a better set. However for anyone else looking to get a headset then you can't go wrong with the Fatal1ty Gaming Headset.

never seen someone so committed to a purchase that they have made, especially such a poor one. Good luck to you. :/

I agree that its not top notch quality, but the fact is, the mic isn't over priced like most of the others, and the fact is it has lasted over 2 years without ONE fault, and continues to perform well and is still comfortable to wear.

There aren't a lot things out these days that you can say that about them.

And why does everyone think that because it costs a lot that it MUST be better lol.

Omega and Rolex watches for example, 1000 quid watch vs. 10 quid watch. Yes one is built much better than the other, however... they both do the same thing.. they tell the time. At the end of the day they both serve the same purpose, and they both break just like everything else. The only difference is when mine breaks I don't care about buying another one when its out of warranty. When your expensive gear breaks out of warranty you will then have to spend more mega bucks to buy another one lol.

Whether or not it has better build quality, they both do the same thing and I would be supprised if anyone could tell the difference as to which one sounds better. A bit like saying well Omega watches are more accurate at telling the time... lol

On another note, if you are a sound fanatic and have the dosh to spend then by all means buy a more expensive and better built quality one. It all depends on your budget and your common sense lol

Spoken for the truth.

I would look into an 'elara' clip on mic or Konig mic. Either of these can be had for a less than a fiver and operate superbly.
