Hi guys, apologies if in wrong forum.

I've been tasked with finding a new GPU for my cousin because he knackered his old 970.

Budget is a max of £150, so I'm just after the best card for the money.

Case - Nvidia Phenom.
Mobo - Gigabyte H97M-D3H
CPU - i5 4570 3.2ghz

Games he plays are stuff like Skyrim, GTA V, League of Legends.

Thanks for the help.

950 just came out, worth considering but wait a while for more benchmarks.

Go for a 2GB R7 370 (£120-130), a 4GB r7 370 (£130-150) or a 2GB 950 (£130-150)
Might struggle with GTAV at 1080p though if he wants high settings.

If you can stretch budget to around £160 you can get a 2GB R9 380, faster than a 960 by a bit and cheaper by a bit (pulls more power, but for a low end card that doesn't really matter).
Personally wouldn't bother with a 4GB r7 370, with that power you wont need more than 2GB anyway, and if you are going to up the budget a bit, the 380 would be leaps and bounds faster than a 4GB 370 for only a bit more cash.

Thanks for those suggestions guys, the 380 does look a decent card and it's in budget so may be worth going with that. Would the fact that it's only 2GB be a problem?

Not for 1080p at all. Any higher resolutions/multi monitor setup might start being a problem, but the 380 doesn't really have enough power for those resolutions anyway. Should be great for 1080p though, play most games maxed at 60 fps (excluding maybe witcher 3)

If you are worried about the 2GB, you could always pay the extra (average of about £15) for the 4GB version.

Well I think he mainly plays GTA, Assassin's Creed, Skyrim, that kind of thing so if you reckon it'll be alright, I might tell them to get that!
