looking to make a pc, for just general internet an maybe some you tube - only need the box plus an OS for it - are the mini pcs any good for this sort of thing or should i get a barebones system an add an OS - looking to keep it under the 150-200 or less if poss

Does it need to be a desktop?

For that kind of money I'd be tempted to recommend an EeePC. - There's not much to them, but they'll come with Windows installed and they do what they do for very little cost.

they just want it to hook upto the tv (hdmi or RGB) really - they are very very very very slow at picking things up so want to keep things as simple as possible for them (the idea on wireless keyboard an mouse has them confused lol), I hate lappys with a passion (worst invention imo) and the brother inlaw will be using it to for just crappy poker games (the none 3d version types). may use a little skype to if they get a cam, do tablets like the fire have ability to use skype with cam?

Yup.

They're not great for typing much on, as is, but a bluetooth keyboard and stand very quickly turns it into a quasi-laptop. For your very light usage, it'll do exactly what you want it to.

think the chromebooks arnt user friendly to everyone because google is the OS and not everyone uses that browser..

if you go tablet and have upwards of 200 why dont you get a nexus 7 or if thats too small get the Acer Iconia 220(10.1") i think it is that is unless its OC you want to buy from..

yea be looking at size, being big as poss if go down the tablet route - do like them cheap pcs that are like 150-70 tho, pc they know how to use and they are thick as pig **** to be honest when trying to teach them anything new (one o thoose types that think age equals inability to learn new things, I would shoot/hang myself if i got that incabable of learning without having an illness of some sort). Oh man I am ranting here wtf lol, the love i have for my inlaws must astound you lot lol - yea do want to buy from OC (untill i set up my own version of them hehe, customer service counts a lot in book and finding another company to rivail thiers is not easy)
