I'm building my first ever pc and the components so far are

Antec NSK 2480 Desktop Case - Black/Silver (380W Earth Watts PSU) £89.99
Intel Pentium Dual-Core E5300 "LGA775 Core 2" 2.60GHz (800FSB) - Retail £52.99
OCZ Gold Edition 4GB (2x2GB) PC2-6400C5 Dual Channel Series (OCZ2G8004GK) £41.39
MSI M3-F Intel G31 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard £38.99
Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM (ST3500418AS) £36.98

I'm looking for a graphics card sub £50 with as much power as possible. This is primaraly for gaming and whereas I appreciate I will not be able to play all games to the max I just need the best I can get. Any suggestions?

if you can stretch a little this is a stunning card for the price
HIS ATI Radeon HD 4850 1024MB GDDR3 PCI-Express Graphics Card - OEM 79.99

otherwise
XFX ATI Radeon HD 4650 1GB TV-Out/HDTV/HDMI (PCI-Express) - Retail 47.99, probably the best you will get for 50 pounds, but that extra 30 will give you a good performance boost.

excellent many thanks for your suggestion's. i am tempted to wait a while and save for it as if I skimp for it now I think I shall regret it later on.

not a bad idea theres good bargains to be had in the mid 100 range that will actually allow you to play at max settings. mainly the 4890

wait a month or so and you will be able to get a 4890 for £100...the cheapest ive seen is £130
