looking for a graphics tablet (my first)

budget 100-150

a4 size, will just be using it for fun

i just have no idea about the brands, which are good/reliable etc.

From what i hear dont get anything other than a Wacom.

Wacom Bamboo Fun. ~£80. Out of stock here, bought mine at the famous high street computer chain.

After that you start looking at pro kit, and the prices go up fast.

Mines a wacom graphire4x5, quite small but for my needs i wouldnt need anything more. I suppose if i started using it more for something professional i would look towards the intuous series but as stated they rocket up in price.

you may have to move to the intuos range for more professional apps and they are not anywhere as cheap as the bamboo....

Get the best Wacom you can afford and you probably don't need an A4 size tablet if it's just for fun. I had an A5 size tablet and it was great, I have an Intuos4 now which I love but not everyone gets on with them so no point getting anything *too* expensive.
