Evening folks, people have been nagging me about what I want for Xmas and have recently started to get more involved in Photoshop and editing my photos, to an extent where a Table might make it more efficient etc. Any thoughts on this?

If it is a sensible idea does any one have any suggestions; budget wise I'm thinking around 60 pounds ish. I'm not after anything huge just something that will make it easier to make some detailed edits to specific parts of pictures etc.

Thanks in advance!

To be honest, I have used cheap ones before and have really not got on with them at all. If I was to buy one now I would go for the Wacom Intuos A4, but that is going to set you back more than £60 unfortunately. Maybe look at a smaller second hand Wacom?

Well at the moment I use a cheap A5 NISIS one and its ok. I have just ordered a £60 one from Trust so I can see what its like as I can send it back within 30 days for refund.

I have seen some Wacom Bamboos on ebay refurbished for £40-60 which look very good. At work I use a Wacom Intuos A4 and its really the kings jewls! Although its best part of £400!

I'm told the bamboo ones are great :)

Really depends how you define great. Compared to a mouse yes, they are. Compared to an Intuos3 or 4, they unfortunately are not.

If you want the proper tablet experience, and not have to judge them on one of the cheaper products, save up and get at a medium Intuos4, or a 3 from the bay. Seems expensive, but I'm not remotely joking when I say it could last you 5+ years easily. As they say, accept no substitute!

For most people the Bamboo is fine, I have the none touch A5 model. For photo retouching it is excellent.

I teach digital imaging and we use them at the university.

Cheers

Martin
