Need a graphics card for my media center... it needs to have HDMI with sound too. My tv only does 1080p via HDMI.

Please help, thanks.

look at the ati HD2X00 series or 38x0 series, they will do what you need. i suggest a HD2600 it is for media only. you may need a DVI to HDMI adaptor too

I am also looking for an answer to this question.

I have a thread entitled "Graphics card with HDMI inc Audio"

im not sure if this works but on both the 2900 and 2400 in sound and audio device properties, under audio, there is sound playback and there in the list is the ATI HD audio rear output option. unfortunatly i can not test if that really works as i dont have a HDMI device such as a TV

this is under XPx64 and xp pro32

I've a 2600XT in my HTPC and have superb sound via HDMI under both XP and Vista. With ATI cards you have to use an ATI made DVI->HDMI adapter otherwise you will not get any sound. These are supplied with the higher end cards but 2400 owners needed to order from ATI.
I also found the Realtek sound drivers gave better audio quality than the ones ATI supply.

Which 2600XT have you got?

Is it available from OcUK?
I've got the Sapphire Ultimate Silent (GDDR3 one with the huge fanless heatsink). OCuk don't seem to stock that version now (only one with fan) but the heatsink looks similar to the Powercolor one they do stock if you need silent. All the 2600XTs should be pretty similar though.

xpertvision hd2600 pro

comes with onboard hdmi connector, i have one

bought it last week for about £40

I recently purchased a Sapphire HD 2400 XT SILENT 256MB GDDR3 HDTV/DVI . This included the DVI-HDMI adaptor and the audio from this works with my Panasonic 32LXD70 LCD TV. Seems to be out of stock on Overclockers at present.

This is the key, get onboard so you don't have to mess about with converters. The xpertvision doesn't appear to be available from OCUK but the HIS version of this card is and has onboard HDMI w/ audio.
