Spec me a headset?/headphones

gaming preferably, i had the icemat siberias but there just about broken, i have a mic, so i can use that to attach to the headphone cable.

but some good quality headphones for gaming?

there's no such thing as actual good sound quality gaming headphones. Just get a pair of good stereo headphones, with a nice big soundstage. I use my sennheiser HD600's for gaming, they are very good for it, with openal and CMSS enabled. I have a pair of grado SR 125's too, but they aren't as suited for positioning because the oundstage is smaller, but they are much better for music in terms of detail and accuracy, and tighter base.

Pompous nonsense! There are good gaming headsets. A good gaming headset is one that satisfies the requirements of the gamer. Sennheiser HD600s are fine 'phones and will do for gaming but at a stupid price.

Any surround sound headphones, prefrably Medusa's, will be best.

My brother has a set of Medusas.
Worse sound quality than my £10 headset I bought from a competitor made by Lancer. And the Clarity of the surround is poor. I for one can't tell the difference between front and back sound clearly enough for it to be usefull.

Just get a decent stereo headset

Rubbish. If you can't tell the difference between front and back they're not plugged in correctly. They're fine sound quality and better for positioning than any stereo headset.
