I've got a 57 plate passat b6 and I'm looking for a new head unit to replace the stock CD player in it. I'm looking for a double DIN head unit in the 350-400 range. I don't mind having to buy a facia for it as the straight swap ones seems expensive. Would like Bluetooth, iPhone/iPod, touchscreen and a couple of pre outs.

Thanks

I bought a Sony Xav-602bt a couple of months ago and love it! Has all the features you're looking for :-)

The Pioneer AVH-X3500DAB is a fantastic headunit. It's really the only one I've been impressed with in the past while, and I see a lot of them.

I'd be looking for a used RNS-510 on ebay (the factory satnav unit) as they come up in this price range. It has a built in 30gb HDD, SD card support, Satnav, and with extra modules can have bluetooth and iPod connectivity. You may need a special firmaware verison, or a new canbus module to stop battery drain as your car is a 57 plate (borderline on therther you would or not)

Alternatively theres the RNS 315 which is plug and play, has no battery drain issues, has bluetooth and can be had with DAB although it has no built in HDD but it does support SD cards and the ipod modules.

Theres also several Kenwood units designed to fit in place of the stock stereo and they can be had cheaply used too.

Edit: just realised you got one already

lol always good to see people opinions. I had been looking at used factory units bit was put off by the battery drain. And almost got a straight swap Kenwood head unit as i have a thing for Kenwood sound stuff. Loving it so far. Has an SD slot in it, but i mainly use my iPod classic via aux and my phone to play music through Bluetooth. And also can get the adapter so the other half's iPhone can connect properly, but she can use the aux for the time being. Prefer not to listen to the frozen sound track lol.
