Spec me a..... Helpdesk ticketing system that support email piping..

As per the title, I am in need of finding a free/open source aesthetically pleasing help-desk ticketing system that supports email piping.

Something like: Trellis Desk by ACCORD5 - http://www.accord5.com/trellis

But that supports email piping on cPanel. There are no end of problems, and I cannot get the TD to email pipe with cPanel forwarders :(

For those who do not know, email piping is a feature that allows you to email an address, and it logs it immediately as a ticket for you, and other features similar.

I have also found RT - Request Tracker - http://bestpractical.com/rt/ But rather than being a webpage, driven by a MySQL back-end(which is ideally what I want) it is something I would have to ./make on a linux build, and I dont have that ability on the host I currently use.


Any other thoughts/suggestions, I'm all ears! :)
 
Have to admit, I hadn't looked at SpiceWorks, as I thought it was a paid solution. But looking at their help desk details now, it looks like it is something to run on a windows server. Will have to see, as ideally I would like just a web based product, and not the full package type of spiceworks. But will have a play about with it :)

To be honest I doubt you're going to get any hosted product which is free, as the hosts are going to be incurring hosting & bandwidth costs.

Spiceworks will run on almost any Windows PC, it's also not very resource intensive, so either stick it on an existing server, or even if you just have an old PC or laptop sat in your server room running it, it should work fine :)
 
I'm not looking at a hosted product. I can host it myself. I am really only looking for a product that is just web browser driven, like the Trellis Desk as mentioned in my OP.

I really only want/need a simple system, nothing overly complex.

Well then you want Spiceworks - the interface is all browser driven :)
 
I had a play with the Spiceworks helpdesk section and it does look good. We only used it for a week when the management suddenly wanted every support call logged, then they got bored and we stopped, but it was quick and easy to use, and emails fire through automatically. There's also an iPhone/Android app.
