Having got back into PC gaming recently I want to upgrade my current PC.

My last system was intended for Photo/Video editing and Gaming but in the end I continued to use Mac for that as I just preferred it and the PC for gaming.

This time around I know I want it for gaming, I know I want a 4090 but I'm not really up to date on the best CPUs, Memory etc etc now.

Where possible I like to use Corsair and Asus (not sure why.....) and I like a bit of RGB :)

I don't need a Monitor or Mouse/Keyboard just the system.

I appreciate that with the 4090 it isn't going to be cheap, I'm guessing around £5K ish

Cheers

This really isn't my forte, but I thought I'd give it a go:

Intel Core i5-13600K (Raptor Lake) Socket LGA1700 Processor - Retail - £339.95
Asus ROG Strix Z690-F Gaming WIFI - Intel Z690 LGA 1700 DDR5 ATX Motherboard - £363.95
Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB 32GB (2X16GB) DDR5 PC5-41600C40 5200MHz Dual Channel Kit - Black (CMT32GX5M2B5200C40) - £200.00

ASUS ROG Strix LC II 360 Performance ARGB AIO CPU Liquid Cooler - 360mm - SKU HS-05C-AS - £224.99
Corsair iCUE 220T Airflow RGB Mid-Tower Smart Case- Black Tempered Glass (CC-9011173-WW) - £104.98
ASUS ROG THOR 1000W Platinum II Modular Power Supply - £314.98

WD Black SN770 2TB SSD M.2 2280 NVME PCI-E Gen4 Solid State Drive (WDS200T3X0E) - £129.95
WD Black SN850X 2TB SSD M.2 2280 NVME PCI-E Gen4 Solid State Drive (WDS200T2X0E) - £159.95

GRAND TOTAL £1,851.05

Problems:
- Will all this Asus/Corsair RGB work together?
- Do you even need a PSU with a native 12 pin for a 4090? Thor II is crazy expensive :o
- What's the optimal combination of PSU/Motherboard/AIO to maximise Asus cashback offer? Is Z690 excluded and therefore a bad buy, despite the saving versus Z790?
- Can you trust an Asus cashback offer to pay out?
- 5200 Mhz RAM, because I don't know what Corsair RGB memory is best to buy and some of the kits seem silly expensive.

Edit: I think 4090 FE would fit in that case, but Rog Strix/TUF would not.

Thanks for the reply and effort.

The first thing I notice is an i5, I was kind of thinking i9 or an AMD equivalent, whatever the best gaming CPU is at the moment.

I'm not too bothered about the price , don't want to go crazy, so that's why I was thinking £5k ish inc GPU, give or take.
