Right, I'm moving into a student house with 5 other people and I'm going to need a fast internet connection. I was looking at NTL 10Mb but they don't offer it at the new address, so I need alterantives.

Needs to be 8Mb minimum and preferably uncapped although I might consider a cap if its large enough.

So who do you suggest?

ADSL2+ has a "distance dependance" too though.

www.samknows.com is your friend (though postcode checkers aren't great), and you're going to need a BT phone line.

According to that site, NTL do service the address, but the postcode checker on the NTL site says otherwise, which is more liekly to be right?

Is ADSL 2+ referred to as ADSL max?

And i'm just over a mile away from the exchange.

Probably the NTL site - the best idea would be to phone them.

Nope. MaxDSL/IPStream Max is just a BT buzzword. It's using nothing but ordinary ADSL.

Mostly irrelevant, especially given that's (if it came from Samknows) based on a straight line distance.
